These stunning pieces depicting so many moving women from all walks of life were created by talented Singapore-based artist and textile designer Vix Harris. Born in the UK, Harris has been calling a motley of places around the world home since she was a small child when her parents, who were English teachers, took her along to places like Kenya and Malawi. Since then, she’s lived in many other countries, from Indonesia to Vietnam. It’s thanks to the experiences she’s collected along the way, as well as being raised by a family of strong women, that intersectional feminism has had such an amazing influence on what she creates today.
For a further description of her work, perhaps there’s no better individual to tell you about it than Vix Harris herself:
When you’ve finished perusing some of her drawings below, I highly encourage you to check out this wonderful interview Harris did with Konbini all about her relationship with her art, her 50 Rebel Women project, and why intersectional feminism is so important to her “as a woman and an artist.” And after that, be sure to follow her on Instagram to keep up with all of Harris’ equally beautiful and important work.
